The Center for Mathematical Analysis, Geometry and Dynamical Systems (CAMGSD) of the Department of Mathematics of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), in Lisbon, is organizing the First CAMGSD Thematic Period dedicated to the very proficuous interaction between Algebraic Geometry and Topological Strings. The Thematic Period will consist of various activities taking place during the course of 5 weeks, from October 10th to November 11th, 2005, including 4 mini-courses and several weekly seminars. The Thematic Period is mainly aimed at Ph.D. students and post-doctoral researchers working in either Algebraic Geometry or String Theory, but any other researchers are welcome to participate.
