Tropical matrices
Gulbenkian's "Nuevos talentos em Matemáticas" project
The tropical semiring is the basis for
tropical geometry, one of the hottest topics in current Algebraic Geometry.
In this project we will master calculus within the tropical semiring. In particular, we will study representations of some discrete groups into the group of invertible tropical matrices.
