City plan around IST
Lisbon, the
capital of Portugal and its largest city, lies in the north bank of
the Tagus (Tejo), in the Portuguese western coast. Foreign visitors
will probably arrive at Lisbon's international airport
(you can check Air Portugal timetables),
with an easy connection (about 15 minutes) by taxi or express bus to the hotels
mentioned above. Towns of touristic interest like Cascais, Sintra,
and Mafra are within a one hour drive from Lisbon or easily reachable
using public transportation.
